The U.S. Census says there are more than 311 million people in the United States. If evangelical adults are 26 percent of them, then there would be 80 million potential voters.

In November 2012 about 32 million evangelicals voted – less than half the evangelical population. What if they had voted?

The United States presidential election of 2000 between George W. Bush and Al Gore hinged on the State of Florida’s Electoral votes.
The Electoral votes were awarded to Bush by the official margin in Florida of 537 popular votes.
This was the first presidential election in 112 years in which a president lost the popular vote but captured enough states to win the electoral vote.
